Autodesk University 2010: General Session and AEC Industry Highlights

This article captures the highlights of the general session at the recently concluded Autodesk University where the focus was on the infinite power of cloud computing, demonstrated by new initiatives such as Project Photofly and Project Neon. It also showcased several professionals that have made an impact on society through design innovation in different ways. A host of new initiatives for the AEC industry were also shared including Project Vasari, Project Galileo, and Project Dasher, in addition to several enhancements to the Revit BIM portfolio.

  1. When I was at AU 2010 I saw a booth that was giving away free thumbdrives.

    It is a company called Docupoint. They call themselves the “Google-like search engine for Autocad.” It searches text inside of ACAD dwg’s. It also searches Inventor and a number of kind of documents, even CALS file format.

    What have you heard about them?
